ENERGY ASSISTANCE

PA Low Income Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)

LIHEAP helps low income people pay their heating bills through energy assistance grants. People do not need to have an unpaid bill to receive energy assistance and receive these grants without being on welfare In addition to LIHEAP, Crisis Grants are available to individuals if they have an emergency situation and might lose their heat.
Situations include:
•     broken heating equipment or leaking lines that must be fixed or replaced
•     lack of fuel
•     termination of utility service
With emergency energy situations service is available 24 hours a day. For more information, contact your local County Assistance Program.
